Since I Started This Evening Routine, I Sleep Like a Baby
Falling asleep used to feel like a daily struggle.
I would lie awake for ages, my thoughts racing, and even when I finally drifted off, my sleep was light and restless.
A few weeks ago, I changed one simple thing — I created a very easy evening routine.
Nothing complicated.
No expensive products.
No “expert” tricks.
Just a few small steps, done the same way every evening.
And the result?
I now fall asleep in less than 10 minutes — and wake up feeling refreshed, the way I did as a child.
Why an Evening Routine Works
Our brains love patterns.
When you give your body the same signals every night, it naturally switches into “sleep mode.”
An evening routine links specific actions with relaxation — and the more often you repeat it, the faster it works.
My Personal Evening Routine
I’m sharing it with you — maybe it can help you too:
-
Dim the lights: About one hour before bed, I switch to warm, low lighting only. No bright ceiling lights.
-
Phone on airplane mode: At least 30 minutes before sleep. No scrolling, no blue light.
-
Drink a calming tea: Chamomile or lavender tea to relax and warm the body.
-
5 minutes of gentle stretching: Neck, back, and legs to release tension from the day.
-
Read a few pages: Nothing exciting — just something calm and light.
-
Go to bed and breathe slowly: Deep breaths, slow counting, and letting the day go.
What Changed for Me
Since starting this routine, my sleep feels completely different:
-
I fall asleep faster (often under 10 minutes)
-
I wake up less during the night
-
My mind feels clearer in the morning
-
I no longer need the snooze button
All from about 30 mindful minutes in the evening.
What If You Don’t Have Much Time?
You don’t need to do everything.
Even two steps can help train your brain to relax, for example:
-
Dim the lights + no phone
-
Tea + reading
The key is consistency.
The same pattern every night leads to faster, deeper sleep.
Final Thoughts
Sometimes the solution isn’t pills or apps — it’s small, repeatable habits.
Since adding this evening routine to my life, I truly sleep like a baby.
If you’re reading this while lying awake at night, try it tonight.
No pressure. No perfection.
Just calm — and better sleep.
