5 Simple Bed Exercises That Made My Back Pain Disappear

5 Simple Bed Exercises That Made My Back Pain Disappear

I never thought the solution could be this simple.
Back pain used to follow me everywhere — in the morning when getting out of bed, in the evening while sitting, and sometimes even while lying down.

Then I started doing something that sounded almost too easy to work:
five gentle exercises — done directly in bed.

No gym.
No yoga class.
No equipment.

Just 10 minutes in the morning or evening, and my back finally feels loose and pain-free.

Why Exercises in Bed Work So Well

Because your body is already warm, relaxed, and under less strain when you’re in bed.
You don’t need a mat or workout clothes — just a few minutes and the willingness to take care of yourself.

The 5 Bed Exercises That Truly Helped Me

1. Single Knee to Chest (30 seconds per side)

Lie flat on your back and slowly pull one knee toward your chest.
Hold it gently with both hands and breathe deeply.
Switch legs after 30 seconds.

2. Both Knees to Chest (30 seconds)

Pull both knees toward your chest at the same time.
Gently rock from side to side to massage the lower back.

3. Supine Spinal Twist (30 seconds per side)

Stretch your arms out to the sides.
Let both bent knees fall to one side while turning your head to the opposite side.
Switch sides after 30 seconds.
Great for spinal mobility.

4. Bed Bridge (5 repetitions)

Place your feet flat on the bed.
Slowly lift your hips upward, hold briefly, then lower back down.
This strengthens the lower back and glutes.

5. Gentle Cat–Cow in Bed (30 seconds)

While lying down, gently arch your back as you inhale (cat),
then relax and release as you exhale (cow).
Focus on breathing and smooth movement.

How Often I Do These Exercises

I usually do them right after waking up or before going to sleep.
Ten minutes is enough — and every time, my back feels noticeably lighter.

What Changed for Me

  • Less pain in the morning

  • Better posture during the day

  • Less need for pain creams or heating pads

All of this without effort, equipment, or excuses.

Final Thoughts

These five simple bed exercises genuinely changed my daily life.
If you struggle with back pain, give them a try.

All you need is your body, your bed, and a few minutes for yourself.
They might be the first step toward a more comfortable, pain-free routine.
